We are Team Maiya. A duo tragically separated by the great seas. Despite our geological difficulties we have been creating stories and their accompanying illustrations since 2023!

Our first major project is the Light Novel, All of Me. Dated for a release in October of 20XX.

A time traveling detective with never enough time!After years of working under my mentor, The Goddess of Time, Aion, I'm finally starting to get to work on real cases instead of minor time discrepancies. Why just the other day I returned from London after partaking in a quaint session of afternoon tea. OH, I forgot to mention, it was in 1890! I am careful to not be caught, don't you worry! Don't tell Aion I went alone either...Aion takes care of all the official busy work at our Brooklyn office... I'm not too sure what she really does but we only go there when we have to. My real office is in a super secret place! You may have heard of it... maybe... the Lost City of Atlantis!With the only rent paying residents:
Althea, the enigmatic witch and her faithful servants, the Cat Sith;
Daphne, the bratty Princess of the Kingdom;
and last but not least,

IP Guidelines

This will be a detailed but not exhaustive list of IP Guidelines regarding any works completed by Velvet Sea. To simply put, this is a framework regarding creations such as All of Me and future Intellectual Properties that belong to Velvet Sea.

First and foremost, we would like to address any and all AI use:

There is to be absolutely no AI reproduction, feeding, training or anything pertaining to electronic nor mechanical systems including information storage and retrieval systems of ANY of our work. There is no case you can justify the use of AI unless it is love in Japanese. We do not recognise any fanwork completed with AI as genuine artistic expression and frown upon it's use.

Any and all fan content must comply with the following rules:

Fan Content/Work should contain a notice or idicator that it is a fan work based on All of Me
In general, making things such as art, animation, writing, or videos for fun is permitted. To profit off of such work is NOT allowed with exceptions except in cases within the United States FAIR USE Act of 2007. Examples for such cases are reviews for social media or commentary videos. It is up to the user to be well studied in this area to create content that fits the FAIR USE Act. Anything that contains official Velvet Sea assets may NOT be sold under any circumstances online nor offline.

Within the realm of common sense, there are no restrictions on how other artist would like to interpret various characters, situations or events in the story to their liking.

We do value people who derrive meaning from the story in their own personal way and want to share it with the world and will not strike down content that doesn't align with how we view characters/situations/events occur.

However, we also are in the belief that if such a grand custom scenario were to arise that it perhaps may be better to create your own work and not have it teeter on the edge of Fan work vs a whole new world.

You should never have any content that means to harm Velvet Sea's reputation. That infringes upon other IPs. Anything that is extracted from the official book/illustrations beyond FAIR USE situations. Anything that is used to affirm personal belief beyond the realm of the world's fiction. Other creators fan work without their permission. Any excessive sexual content that may be considered unlawful. Anything that promotes excessive hate towards individuals or groups, or for any commercial or political use.

This also includes use any of our designs or characters in any form on social media that may confuse fans as to the legitimacy of the account. For example, a virtual youtuber (vtuber) form of one of our characters to use for streaming on your own account.

Furthermore, though it is not directly relevant to Fan Content/Work, posting or modifying photos of either Maiya Murasaki and Tomochan without express permission to do so is prohibited.

Physical versions of fan work such as stickers, art prints, and other forms of merchandise are allowed to be sold by local, independent artists in limited production runs. For instance, you have a booth at a convention and want to share with your audience.

Independent online artists with their own storefronts and are capable of manufacturing and shipping their own merchandise are allowed to sell their fan work in their own limited runs. Mass production websites that do the process for you is not allowed. In other words, you must be 100% of the fan creation process.

If you have anything you wish to work on that is created by Velvet Sea and you are unsure of your specific scenario, please contact us. If you have any special requests regarding IP guidelines, please contact us as well. Although we are a very small team, we will try our best to get back to you ASAP.

DISCLAIMER

Thank you for making it all the way to the bottom of this. You rock. We hope this provided you with some understanding of what is and isn't allowed regarding any Velvet Sea work. These guidelines are not a strict method to demand what you can and can't do, it's to keep you safe to produce the forms of content you know and enjoy. We are truly grateful for any and all fanwork and don't want complications to get in your way.

If there is an egregious enough violation of these guidelines, we may contact you directly to discuss it.

Again, this list is not exhaustive and we reserve the right to update this guideline without any notices but will in general, make a form of announcement that changes have/will occur. Thank you again. orz
